![]() I won't say I wasn't intrigued by the isometric view as I played Fallout & Arcanum, Crusader and a few others. I did notice it and Avernum had thag similar style to looks but gameplay was far different. The internet then drew my attention to online gaming. My interest in construction games hailed From ACS (Adventure Construction Set) through FRUA (Forgotten Realms Unlimited Adventures) and BTCS (Bardstale Construction Set (FUCK YOU FARGO FOR NOT MAKING THAT FOR THE REMASTER OF THE TRILOGY!!). I managed to get it to run on my older windows 98 machine a few times but it was slow & clunky. Shattered Light came out in 1999 and I picked it up around that time or after (it was ashort time I saw the ad in dragon Magazine and seeing it actually in the mall software shop). Jeff was cool to have that game come out for people to create their own maps.Īvernum popped out in rapid succession but I played Geneforge first (shareware) and loved it. I never saw the CD release with all three games either. I do not know if any of the shareware discs i bought in the software isles had exile on them. I played the online mud/MMORPG Wyvern somewhere around 2003 and saw the Exile games around this time as well. I managed to finally get dialup around 1998. ![]() ![]() I've always been a huge fan of 2D tiles (goes back to 80s gaming). ![]()
